AVF Marketing makes a difference to concert success

Monday, 30th April, 2007

AVF Marketing Ltd has helped a daughter to remember her dad in a unique and touching way.  Vicki Laws, a talented oboeist who has performed around the world, put on a classical concert at Stockton Parish Church on Saturday, 28th April.
It was a year to the day since her dad, Don Laws, died in Butterwick Hospice aged 71, after a six-month fight against lung cancer.  Vicki said it was her father's wish to spend his final days in the Butterwick, and as thanks for the excellent care he received all proceeds from the concert will go to the Hospice.
AVF Marketing heard about the event from one of the fundraisers, Anne Cooling, and decided to sponsor it to ensure that all the money raised was put back into the Hospice.
Arnold Fewell, managing director, AVF Marketing said: “As a business we feel it is so important to help others and we are great supporters of the work that Butterwick Hospice does for children and adults. We try and help them whenever we can along with other causes that are important to us and the community.”

Anne Cooling, head of corporate development said: “I would like to thank AVF Marketing for sponsoring this event. Their continued support makes a real difference to the Hospice as they not only help financially but also give up their time freely to support and advise us when required. The concert was absolutely fantastic and this sponsorship ensured that Vicki raised even more money in memory of her dad.”

The event raised £1,500.  We believe that corporate social responsibility is an important part of any business, small and large, so if you would like to support Butterwick Hospice please contact Anne Cooling, head of corporate development on 01642 628930.
